kicking

my legs are getting a lot stronger. if someone holds me up, i can stand up straight. i am not strong enough to support my own weight. plus the concepts of gravity and balance are very tricky. i don't quite have the hang of it. i don't know how grown ups can stand upright without falling all the time.

my daddy got me a new toy to exercise my legs. he calls it the fisher price kick n drive gym. i kick the big footpad with my feet and it lights up, plays music, and the roller spins. it's so much fun being able to control it myself. it is my favorite toy right now!

three months

i am now three months old. what an exciting month the last month has been! i have undergone some amazing changes. here's what i can do now that i couldn't just a month ago: i babble. i sing (though not very well, just like mommy and daddy). i laugh. i have different cries. i suck my thumb. i have great head control and can turn my head at will - mommy and daddy do not need to support my head anymore. i hold onto small objects. i like being read to. i watch tv. i sleep 4-6 consecutive hours at night. and i am very curious...i wonder what i will be like in another month.

oh, i am also now a good projectile vomiter.

nail trimming

now that i have more control of my hands, i rub my face a lot. sometimes i accidentally scratch myself. it doesn't hurt but i have made myself bleed. so mommy likes to keep my nails trimmed so i don't hurt myself any worse.

audrey

have you met audrey? i haven't yet. her parents are kerry and kathy, who are good friends of my mommy and daddy. audrey is just one month older than me, so my parents and her parents are regularly trading stories about us to each other. very strange, hearing stories about a baby girl i haven't met yet. i am sure i will meet her soon.

audrey also has a web site. her home page has a lot of empirical data. which is cool but i don't quite understand. i am just a baby after all. the players page is really funny though!

books

my daddy was away for work last week so i got to spend extra quality time with mommy. they normally fight over who gets to play with me but with daddy out of town, mommy had me all to herself! mommy and daddy have bought me many books and they love to read to me. i love listening to them and i also love looking at the pretty pictures in the books.

rattle

i am getting better at using my hands. i did not know how to use them when i was born, but now i am beginning to understand how useful my hands are. i can rub my face to tell my parents that i am tired. i can suck on my fingers when i want some comfort. and most importantly, i can squeeze them at will now. that means i can hold onto objects like rattles and move it around. pretty cool, eh? sometimes i can even push my pacificer back in my mouth when it has fallen out. i haven't mastered the art of grabbing objects by myself yet...that should come soon!

happy valentine's day

happy valentine's day! today, i wore a special outfit to celebrate valentine's day. i think i look absolutely adorable in it. of course, mommy and daddy wanted to take some pictures of me. so sat in my chair and chilled while daddy snapped away.

baths

i love taking baths. water is so much fun! it's wet and can be hot or cold. sometimes mommy washes me, sometimes daddy washes me, and sometimes both of them wash me together. baths are also very relaxing, which is nice after an exhausting day of being all cute and adorable (it's hard work you know). i have a lot of hair and my parents sometimes like being silly with it during bath time.

my mommy and daddy love taking pictures of me. today they put me on my tummy for some pictures. but i wasn't in the mood for tummy time so i refused to look at the camera. i was having fun looking at the textured blue mat and my hands. but i love being held. when mommy picked me up, i couldn't help but to smile!

two months

can you believe it? i am now two months old. my doctor told me that i am 22 1/2 inches long and just over 10 1/2 pounds. i am now at the 50th percentile for height and weight. which means i am perfectly average. unlike when i was born - i was in the 4th percentile. i've been eating (and pooping) more than most babies - it's been paying off. yeah me!

road trip

i went on my first road trip this past weekend. i had a lot of fun. we stayed over at my cousin maia's house. i got to play with her. she is much older than me...she is almost 36 months old. i want to be just like her. plus just like my parents, her parents also love snuggling with me. i also met some of mommy's and daddy's friends. i got so much attention! what more can you ask for?

play mat

i love play time with mommy and daddy. my favorite activity is staring at their faces. i find them fascinating. sometimes, when they talk or make sounds, i try my best to imitate them. i try to make the same faces and the same sounds. i am not very good but i think i am getting better every day. if they say one of my favorite sounds, i will smile back and even coo or squal in delight. i love the letter o, the number 3, the letter u and the mooo and meow sounds.

i also like to play in my play mat. i like looking at all the toys hanging over my head. i discovered that if i flail my arms or legs, i can sometimes make them move. wow!

little feet

props to my parents for taking the awesome pic of my hand wrapped around mommy's thumb. isn't it amazing how small (and cute) my hands are? you know, my feet are just as small. look at my first footprints that were taken shortly after birth.

one month check up

i spent some quality time with my pediatrician today. she told me i now weigh 8 pounds 1 ounce and i am 20 1/4 inches long. that is great news! when i was born, i was 5 pounds 6 ounces and 19 inches long. she also gave me a shot. it really really hurt so i cried for several minutes.

my daddy took a picture of me before the doctor appointment. my parents tell me that i am such a pretty angel when i am sleeping!

fiesta bowl

i watched the fiesta bowl with my daddy today. he is a big buckeye fan. the buckeyes beat notre dame 34-20 (espn coverage). that made daddy very happy!
